The opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Head of DevOps to join us and play a crucial role in driving our software platforms forward. You will be accountable for ensuring smooth deployment and continuous availability of our software platforms. Your expertise and leadership will be vital in making developers’ lives easier. What is the job about?

As Head of DevOps you will be leading a team of DevOps Engineers and collaborating with Software Developers and Security Analysts to ensure that software delivery is secure, scalable, and reliable. You will be responsible for automating infrastructure management and software deployment pipelines. You will continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve DevOps processes and infrastructure. Your technical knowledge of cloud computing platforms and proficiency in scripting languages will be used to drive our software platforms forward.

What exactly will you do?

Responsibilities:

• Lead a distributed DevOps team across Malta and Chennai, set goals and objectives, and manage performance and development.

• Automate deployment and infrastructure management processes through infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous integration, deployment, and delivery (CI/CD) for IaaS and containerised deployments.
• Mentor DevOps Engineers and collaborate with Software Developers and Security Analysts to ensure that software delivery is secure, scalable, and reliable.
• Ensure that DevOps practices are integrated into all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve our DevOps processes and infrastructure.

What we’re looking for

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in leading and advising engineering teams on automation and continuous delivery.
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Google Cloud or AWS.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, such as JavaScript, Bash, or Python.

• Experience with container orchestration, such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VPN, reverse proxy, DNS, and API connectivity.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic.
